The Schools of Tomorrow are a cluster of new-age schools aimed at redefining the government education infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh. The school in Ashta is centrally situated within the city, near a lively local market. With no existing school on site and a fresh piece of land to work with, the design was conceptualized with a strong emphasis on sustainability and ensuring the existing landscape was protected. The school design is also unique to its local culture and context, creating a deep connection and belonging for the students.

Given the extreme climatic conditions of the region, temperature regulation was a key design consideration to ensure a comfortable learning environment for students and staff. The school has incorporated several passive cooling strategies like the use of fly ash bricks and AAC blocks for improved thermal insulation. The windows to the classrooms are specially designed recessed windows to control daylight ingress, eliminating the need for external chhajjas. The windows will reflect harsh sunlight and allow diffused light to enter the classrooms, and prevent any harsh shadows and excessive light from entering the areas. This in result creates a well curated and learning conducive environment for the students and will improve overall focus and attention spans.

Nestled within the upscale gated community of Prestige Lakeside in Hyderabad, this residential villa is a harmonious blend of modern luxury and timeless design, tailored for a family of five. The design draws inspiration from the region’s tropical climate, seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor spaces to create a sanctuary that feels both expansive and intimate.

Key Design Features:

  • Climate-Responsive Design:
The villa’s orientation maximizes natural light and ventilation, with a North-East facing entrance that welcomes morning sunlight. Strategic shading elements, such as deep overhangs and vertical louvers, mitigate heat gain while ensuring ample airflow throughout the home.
  • Vastu Shastra:
The layout adheres to Vastu Shastra principles, with key elements like the master bedroom positioned in the southwest for stability and the kitchen in the southeast to harness positive energy. This ensures a balanced and harmonious living environment.
  • Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Integration:
Large glass doors and windows blur the boundaries between the interior and the lush outdoors, offering unobstructed views of the surrounding greenery. A spacious outdoor deck serves as an extension of the living area, perfect for family gatherings.
  • Sustainable Materials:
The villa incorporates eco-friendly materials such as aerated concrete blocks for the walls, recycled wood for interior finishes, and low-maintenance Fundermax cladding for the exterior. These choices enhance durability while reducing the environmental footprint.
  • Personalized Spaces:
Each family member’s needs are thoughtfully addressed through tailored spaces—a vibrant children’s playroom, a serene study for the parents, and a cozy family lounge for shared moments.

This villa in Hyderabad is more than just a home; it’s a thoughtfully crafted retreat that balances modern luxury with the timeless principles of Vastu Shastra, sustainability, and a deep connection to nature.
