Rising gracefully over the Kochi skyline, Aayakar Bhavan is more than just a building, it is a statement of cultural pride, sustainability, and modern efficiency. Awarded a prestigious 3-Star GRIHA sustainability rating, this architectural marvel seamlessly blends contemporary design principles with the timeless aesthetics of Kerala’s rich heritage. The result is a sophisticated, environmentally conscious structure that respects its past while embracing the future.

A Design Rooted in Tradition:

The design of Aayakar Bhavan pays homage to Kerala’s architectural identity, incorporating elements that are both aesthetic and functional. The exterior façade is adorned with wooden paneling and sandstone embellishments, a direct nod to the local craftsmanship and materials that define Kerala’s traditional homes and temples. One of its most striking features is the vertical garden, a lush, green living wall that softens the structure’s modern edges while bringing Kerala’s abundant flora into an urban setting. Beyond its visual appeal, this vertical garden also provides natural insulation, reducing heat absorption and enhancing energy efficiency.

A Space Designed for Efficiency and Comfort:

The ten-story building is designed to meet the functional needs of its occupants while creating a comfortable, inspiring work environment. The grand reception area welcomes visitors with a sense of openness and warmth, setting the tone for the rest of the space. For collaborative and administrative needs, the building houses:

  • A state-of-the-art conference hall, designed for high-level discussions and presentations.
  • A well-equipped video conferencing room, enabling seamless communication across locations.
  • A dedicated communications room, ensuring smooth operations.
  • A vibrant crèche, providing a safe and engaging space for the children of employees.
  • A canteen on the 9th floor, offering a panoramic 360-degree view of Kochi’s bustling cityscape, transforming everyday dining into a truly immersive experience.

Every detail, from fixtures to spatial planning, has been carefully curated to honor the Ayavakar Bhavan’s principles and Kerala’s heritage while prioritizing modern functionality.

Sustainability and Smart Energy Management:

Sustainability is at the core of Ayavakar Bhavan’s design philosophy. The roof is fitted with 182 solar panels, generating a total capacity of 60.06 kW, which meets 60% of the building’s energy requirements. This commitment to renewable energy reduces dependency on conventional power sources, significantly lowering the building’s carbon footprint.
